Large Blue Candelabra
2025 | stoneware clay | handbuilt
This piece features a deep blue glaze inspired by the ocean’s movement. It is apart of The Empress exhibition with Janey Gallery. Much like coral reefs that sustain entire ecosystems, The Empress embodies growth and the life-giving force of nature. This candelabra serves a reminder of how beauty and vitality bloom when we nurture what surrounds us.
Chrome Coral
2025 | stoneware clay | handbuilt
The chrome coral was all about reflection. Both literally and symbolically. I chose this glaze because it mirrors its surroundings and catches light and movement. By glazing it in chrome, I wanted the piece to feel reflective, so it not only represents nature’s abundance but also mirrors it back to the viewer.
Thorn Vase
2025 | stoneware clay | handbuilt
Inspired by the roses on the Empress tarot card, this piece explores the delicate balance between beauty and protection. The thorns serve as both a warning and an invitation—reminding us that growth often requires boundaries and defense. They encourage viewers to reach out, to feel the subtle prick of strength, reflecting the duality of nature: softness intertwined with harshness.
Though clay transforms into something enduring once fired, its malleability and ability to record every touch, shift, and pressure mirrors the sensitivity of marine life to environmental change.
